Locations 2016

The Designers’ Saturday is being held at six different locations
in and around Langenthal. These are linked by an efficient shuttle bus service. The six chosen locations each have their own programme and their own unmistakable character – six areas
of creative activity which embody the spirit of innova-tion,
the everyday routine of production and that special something which constitutes the added value of good design.

City Center

The Mühlehof, a threestorey barn alongside the «Alte Mühle», and the «depot for design», home of the Swiss Design Award, contain the press office and information center, making them the geographical centerpiece 
of Designers’ Saturday. After the Preview on Friday evening, the Designers’ Den is the place for savouring the last of a fabulous day, in an intimate setting and over a good drink.


Création Baumann

With subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and the USA, this renowned textiles company designs and produces top quality fabrics for a wide range of applications in interior decor – innovative textile solutions for both private and public buildings.



Girsberger specialises in «seating for the office and the home». For more than a century, Girsberger has been an influence on the de­velopment of innovative seating – in form, function and ergonomic aspects.


Glas Trösch

Noted for its constant innovations and for the development of new products, Glas Trösch offers a wide range of glass for both indoor and outdoor settings to meet the needs of designers and design engineers. Its special printing techniques open up new vistas in the design of glass, going beyond anything ever imagined before.


Hector Egger Holzbau

The wood construction works. With 60 highly motivated specialists and the most uptodate CNC technology, Hector Egger Holzbau carries out innovative hi-tech wood construction projects. The Minergiecertified production hall impressively combines sophisticated logistics with futuristic architecture.



The Ruckstuhl carpet factory has won an international reputation in the field of top-quality textile floor coverings. In keeping with its vision statement of «Carpets in natural materials – highest quality standards, material aesthetics and consistent ecological principles since 1881», Ruckstuhl processes natural, renewable raw materials into objects of cultural value. The family business markets its products in Europe, the USA and the Far East. 


Shuttle buses (free of charge) leaving from the SBB railway station and from the official car parks as well as indicated rapid walkways are linking all six exhibition venues.
